2300 Highland Mall Blvd Feasibility Study

Austin, TX

In its radical re-envisioning of a tired shopping mall, Antenora Architects proposes to create 200,000 sf of new Class A office space on the north side of Austin. The original occupant was JC Penney, which previously served as an anchor tenant in Highland Mall.

Key strategies for the renovation include the generous introduction of natural daylight throughout, the conversion of former loading docks into an outdoor landscape amenity, and targeted exterior finish upgrades. The design team also plans to redistribute services in the building to accommodate multiple tenants. In addition, the former garden center will be repurposed to provide an on-site commissary for meal preparation to serve the new tenants.
