408 E Sixth Street

Austin, TX

Antenora Architects adapted this charming property in downtown Austin for re-use as an entertainment venue while maintaining the rustic beauty of its intimately scaled facade. Set in the heart of the Sixth Street Historic District, the project posed many design and construction challenges due to the historical nature of both adjacent buildings and limited access to the site.

Working within these constraints, the design team successfully incorporated two bar stations, a stage area, and a large roof-top terrace with seating that offers spectacular views of the Austin skyline. Particularly noteworthy is the facade design, which honestly expresses its use of modern materials and methods of construction yet sensitively responds to the vintage stock of neighboring structures.
