This design-build project for the US Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier, Louisiana, included the repair, upgrade, and securing of a 55,000 sf Command Center. With personnel directing air operations around the globe from this facility, it was designed to meet the latest governmental security standards as developed by the Director of National Intelligence. The Command Center’s defensive protection incorporates multiple strategies for countersurveillance that assure the safety of its occupants as they pursue their important mission. As a contractor-led fast-track project, the work required an intensely focused mix of consulting expertise and collaboration with the client and various sub-contractors.
